Hi, I'm Nick
Welcome to my website! Below you will find a summary of my Engineering Experience and Skills. I also encourage you to look at my Projects.
Experience
I have a passion for Robotics, which is why I earned both my Bachelors and Masters in Robotics Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
With that being said, I am currently working as an Manufacturing Engineer for Stryker. Please see more details below on my current and previous professional ventures:
Manufacturing Engineer - Apr. 2024 to Current
Computer Science Instructor - Aug. 2021 to Apr. 2024
- Dual Enrollment: Guest Lecture COP 1000 - Introduction to Computer Programming for Florida International University to qualifying dual enrollment students.
- Computer Science: Teach computer science concepts and tools to the young men at Belen Jesuit. Integrating real workflows and methodologies such as AGILE/SCRUM in order to better prepare future software engineers for the workforce. Maintain AP-CSA and AP-CSP passing rates above both state and national averages.
- CS Resource: Resource for the school and students for projects by department, students, and other miscellaneous necessities that require programming.
Independent Contractor - May. 2021 to Current
- Luminsea: N.D.A. - Please contact for details.
Ph.D. Candidate - Aug. 2019 to Mar. 2020
- HIFU Robotic Treatment: Performed research on HIFU treatment combined with a precise robotic approach. Utilized a 7-DOF Robotic Manipulator, real-time control methods, and surgical experimentation on both phantom thermochromatic tissue and live animal patients.
- Lab Management: Ensured the day to day operations of MSR Lab were fulfilled, including ordering and acquiring equipment/materials, creating and sharing documentation for lab equipment, implementing lab resources such as a website
and server, and maintaining safety.
Graduate Research Assistant - Jan. 2019 to Aug. 2019
- Robotic Control of a Surgical Laser Waveguide: Developed ROS C++ Libraries for a 7-DOF Robotic Manipulator specifically for precise control of a flexible laser waveguide. Developed software routines to handle laser synchronization with robot movement, registration procedures, and batch execution of laser-tissue interactions.
- Laser-Tissue Interaction Experiments: Assisted in the design and execution of class 4 CO2 laser experiments involving
various soft tissue samples.
Software Engineering Intern - May 2018 to Aug. 2018
- T360: Developed software contributing to the containerization process for existing legacy applications. Utilized technologies such as Docker, Cassandra, Jetty, Angular, and OpenShift in an Agile Environment.
Software Engineering Intern - May 2017 to Aug. 2017
- SLEEVrO: Fabricated hardware mounting apparatuses using Fusion360 and 3D printing. Utilized a combination of Arduino Boards, Biometrics, and Bluetooth communication. Involved with development of software involving Unity3D and OpenVR, tailored to a VR Experience with HTC Vive in an Agile Environment.
WPI IQP Student - Aug. 2017 to Nov. 2017
- Big Data Modeling: Produced four models in Python that traversed large sets of data to determine results such as Optimized Stock Portfolios, Loan Approval, World Trade Rankings, and Cobb Douglas Production Estimates. Stored
developed economic models inside a restricted wiki page with bilingual documentation.
Assistant Prototype Engineer - Jun. 2016 to Aug. 2016
- Robot Fabrication: Designed and Fabricated a proof of concept for a robot that transports groceries from an outdoor environment to a kitchen. Implemented software in C to enable tele-operation and autonomous routines.
If you would like some more information and details on my background, I would love to chat.
